5. Lounge Mods would take turns posting...

...a Daily Thread. It would have milestones, birthdays, etc., like NY99's threads, but would also have other cool features, and Daily Questions.

I can't find one in the archives tho...but I'm posting and playing with my son at the same time.

I just finished reading most of those posts......

I did not know DU existed back then......too bad! I know I would have loved it......

Quite a few things have changed. For instance, now you have 1000+ instead of showing the total post count.......

Wonder why they went to that?

But of course the overall format is very similar, so it's easy to navigate around in.

I appreciate your hauling this out so I could read it!

...if memory serves..they decided that huge post counts were intimidatin' to newbies and sorta showed a hierarchy around here...so they changed it when we had a major software overhaul.

of the day we changed servers to the "new" DU. We were all competing to be the last post in the Lounge before it blipped off.

8. I don;t miss DOING it much..but it was a nice way to check in..

Waaaay back when I did it, I got in the habit of trying to post it before midnight Eastern time, and sometimes I would be late and people would PM me complaining, or start "mock threads"..no one remembered that I am WEST coast..and for me it was only 9 PM :grr:..(just kidding really)

It took wuite a bit of time to get it all together and research all the birthdays & milestones.. I still find my stenopad occasionally with the stuff on it..

and then the "Last post" award I started turned into "something else" too, since some computer "experts" figured out a way to "win"...

I do think it was a worthwhile feature:)

19. I think I only ever did one.

I never modded the lounge back then, but I think I remember doing one to help out. I definitely wouldn't mind bringing them back, but mine would probably suck. I'm not good with graphics. I do miss those days.
