I just made cranberry salad for turkey day.

Haven't made the stuff in years, but I figured since it's also my birthday on Thursday I am going to go all out and make it a special day for me and my boyfriend (who can barely boil water).

3. Here ya go.

1 pkg. Cherry gelatin
1 cup hot water
1 cup pineapple juice drained from crushed pineapple
1 cup sugar
1 cup ground raw cranberries
1 cup drained crushed pineapple
1 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup nut meats

Mix hot water with gelatin; stir thoroughly. Add pineapple juice. While gelatin cools, pour sugar over ground cranberries. When gelatin begins to thicken, add cranberry-sugar mixture, crushed pineapple, celery, and nut meats. Place in mold and chill until firm.

People in other parts of the world find America's 'salads' made with Jello a very strange concoction... :silly: :silly: :silly:

But I had them as a child, and loved them then! GOOD!

Thanks for the recipe.

I make a cranberry sauce. Cranberries, water, and sugar. It makes the whole berry kind and I actually use Equal instead of sugar.

5. My Grandma made it every year when I was growing up...

...and I loved the stuff.

Of course she also had the bad taste to make fruitcake which I think is a crime against nature.
