So I got invited to lunch at Al Franken's apartment in New York City

Franken is hosting a lunch for John Kerry and about fifteen other liberal writers. It is an 'on the record' lunch, so Kerry will be making some remarks and hanging out. The thing, on the whole, will last about two hours. Somehow, my name got on the list. I got the phone call about an hour ago.

So much for people being worried about my ego, I guess. I wonder if Moford will be there?

Success is the best revenge, or so I am told. Any NYC DUers who want to get a late lunch in the city, I'm game. Gonna be somewhere between 81st and West End Ave.

Ain't no one gonna ruin this one for me.

with *some* advance notice. would have to leave work early, but, that is NOT a problem...

i used to live on the UWS, so I could probably make a few suggestions, or, you might want to do it mid-town so you're closer to Penn Station.

If you want a quick midtown NYC lunch or dinner, check out Dougies. I know it's kosher, but day-mn, their fried fresh onion slices are great. My wife loves that place and makes me go visit it while we visit in-laws in December.

He was a kick ass speaker then. Always good. He was part of the solution.
