Annoying neighbor. (updated with some more info on the offender!)
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 01:36 PM by hiaasenrocks
On Friday a girl moved into the apartment below mine and I'm pretty sure she has surround sound speakers installed. Unfortunately, I think she installed them on her ceiling, which is, of course, my floor.

Apparently she likes to watch movies that contain a lot of loud noises and music; probably action flicks. You know, lots of rumbling and ominous, suspense-building sound effects. This happened, so far, Friday and Saturday night, her first two nights in the place.

Sometimes it's so loud it sounds like there's a thunderstorm in her apartment. I'm only hoping there will be a tornado as well.

I went down there and knocked on her door late last night. No answer. Just loud movie sounds. If it happens again today, I'll try again. If no answer, I'll call the office.

EDIT: I went outside a few minutes ago to get something out of my car. I noticed that her car is in the assigned space for her apartment. She has two bumper-stickers: "Bush/Cheney" and "See BS" (with the CBS eye logo).

:puke:

1. My son had a similar
problem with his next door apartment neighbor. She would slam her door every morning when she left for work waking him up. My son wrote a note asking her to please close the door more quietly and attached a flower to it and put it on her door. She started closing her door more easily after that.

My first thought was to turn on my stereo really loud, with the speakers face-down on the floor.

No, I won't do this. :)

3. If she has them against the wall the......
sound will travel up in the void spaces. I'd bring her a small cake and let her know, she is probably clueless about it.

4. She's home now, I think.
Although no violent noises can be heard.

I'm going to walk down there shortly and try again.
