Hours are 8 to 5 with an unpaid hour for lunch. Rarely observed by anyone, though.

I had one job that WAS 8 hours with 1 hour lunch, but it only counted as 7 hours. But that was cool, because it meant we were getting paid for only 35 hours a week, on salary, and I loved it.

3. Usually not.

If your employer provides a paid lunch period (lucky you), then it should include lunch. However, it usually doesn't. An 8 hour work day is really an 8.5 or 9 hour one.

4. Yup. And I get 1-1/2 hours for lunch.

My hours are 7 to 4. My lunch break is from 11:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
