Toothaches suck.
And they are not conducive to political activism or radio archiving.

3. I hate dentists!
But a really bad toothache would convince me to see one.

7. Bite down on a whole clove in the affected area and hold it there.
The clove oil will help the infection and help with the pain.

11. My dad would do something similar for me
when i was a kid, except he would boil some water, and throw some cloves in. The he just gave me a Q tip to put in the clove-water and then put on my tooth. Prolly has the same effect. I do remember it worked well though. . .

12. I had a watertight door slam me in the face once, in a storm while
crossing Drakes Passage. Not too many dental facilities in Antarctica. As a result, I had horrible toothaches for years. I tried the peppermint, I tried the clove. What worked for me was taking a shot of scotch / vodka / Listerine and just keeping it in my mouth for as long as I could before the burning got to be too bad. This generally gave me at least a 30 minute period without any pain; more than enough time for painkillers to kick in, or to get some work done if I didn't have painkillers.

13. Sorry to hear about your toothache.
Please get it taken care of as soon as possible. I had an abscess that put me in the emergency room several years ago.
