Will took the risk and with his publisher filing bankruptcy, he has paid the price with some hard knocks in following through on his commitment. It is great that a fellow Du'er with a connection or two gets up under him and supports him. That is the real value of this place.

It mitigates the less than appealing aspects we all know exist here from time to time.

Er, I thought this was a gathering for liberals.
Greenfield and Fineman have lots of other places
they can go: The Faux News employee lounge,
the CNN employee lounge, the good ol' boys club,
the Liar's Club...

I think Greenfield weaseled his way in. He had some closeness to the old SNL gang when he was actually a real liberal journalist. I wish Al had been able to tell both Greenfield and Fineman to "Fuck off." Neither one of them writes about policy, EVER. It's always about the process, the horserace and however they can make Karl a happy man.

and I were discussing last night that the only thing that would be even neater were if that inhuman slime bitch known as Ann Coulter (YEEECHHH, I hate even having to type her name!) were there, and we could hear about her getting her ass royally kicked from here all the way to Seattle by Will and Molly Ivins, though either of those could easily take her on by themselves.

And Will could show her what a REAL American is, and just who the REAL "traitor" is, if she could stand to her the truth!

Congratulations Pete! But before you push this kid too much, you should know that he presented himself for Thanksgiving up here in the cold frozen woods as follows:

- wearing sandals...NO Socks...and a sweater, no coat!
- goddamn kid didn't even bring socks...or a coat.
- wearing a cap to cover the worst hair day that I've ever seen!
- driving a car that he holds together with duct tape...really...the front bumper is there thanks to the duct tape and he is rarely able to open the driver's side door.
- brings with him some of the most depressing movies that I've ever seen... and make me watch them.
- eats like he hasn't had a decent meal in months... then falls asleep on the couch... and SNORES... I mean deep bellowing, melodic snores.
- at least two weeks' growth on his face.

HOW THE HELL IS HE GOING TO BE ABLE TO CLEAN UP HIS ACT FOR THIS NYC LUNCH?????
