My Mom, converted!
My Mother is no freeper but she did vote for Dubya. She thought the trip to Iraq yesterday was "wonderful". I suggested it was to offsett Senator Clinton. She said she was not that cynical. I told her that I had to give the Devil his due and that Karl Rove pulled a good one.

She said "Who's Karl Rove?"

At this point I made sure she knew I was dragging anchor, because it's not nice to call your Mom a "Stupid *$#".

I told her Karl Rove was the President of the United States. We talked a while.

Anyway, she says she's not voting for Bush again because he was wrong to invade Iraq. She lives in a retired persons community. She talks to her neighbors.

One vote at a time......

1. I hear these stories all the time
I personally know three people who voted for Bush who won't do it again. Given that he lost last time, I think he's in really serious trouble now. I think Rove knows that and that's why Whistle Ass went to Iraq yesterday.

2. One at a time! And I'm sure Rove knows it, and I'm also
that there is no one who didn't support AWOL who support him now.

There are, I'm sure, a lot of fence-sitters at this point, but I'm sure there are no Gore voters who have switched sides.

That is, Chimpy McAWOL is only losing votes. I can't imagine he's actually gaining votes.

HA HA HA!!!!!!!

If the dems win in '04 (like they did in '00) and the votes are actually cuoted and the rightful winner actually given the presidency, the freeps are gonna go ballistic!

3. Great-aunt Lucia had a saying
that she applied to life in general and whatever task happened to be at hand: "By the yard, it's hard. By the inch, it's a cinch."

Good on ya.

4. Congratulations!
It is spreading...my sister, who is 25 and is not sure where she's registered to vote (she knows she registered at 18 in her hometown, because she could get extra credit in government class , she may have re-registered in college or when she moved to Boulder or when she moved to Denver or...), and has never voted, said she will be voting for the first time this year, and said a lot of her Republican friends are fed up and ABB, too. (Colorado is a Republican state, but it's more libertarian than fundie, and * has succeeded in pissing off the libertarians.)

Could Colorado be in play? Hmm...

6. That reminds me......
I told my 19 year old Daughter and her Boyfriend they ought to think about voting next year. I told them the draft was coming back.

(Thanks to DU, I find out stuff like that!)

Next: my half-brother and -sister and her daughter.

5. Same thing happened to my mom
a couple of years before she died. Then there is my uncle who was a repuke member of the California State Assembly in the early '70's..... He sure as hell ain't no stinking repuke these days. He thinks of bush as a daddy bought idiot puppet of the machine.

7. congrats Mom
good news Turbineguy! My apolitical daughter is going to vote this year, in fact she's going with me to meet Howard Dean on Sunday.

This is how we will change the world. One mind at a time.

8. Congrats! We're changing things, one voter at a time!
Bush can have all hthe money in the world, but it means diddly-squat if he doesn't have enough support from the voters.
