4. and that giant red SPOT!
Honestly -- you can't take your eyes off it, but you don't want it to notice that you're staring. I can't believe it's a good sign, yet it's just something that nobody wants to mention directly. Makes conversation really awkward.

7. You bastard!
I haven't thought about Jupiter in months. I was finally able to get it out of my head and forget all about it. Then you had go and bring it up, now I'll be up all night thinking about it.

11. I guess it doesn't realize that vertical stripes would be more slimming
Plus if it didn't rotate so rapidly, it wouldn't be so oblate. Anyway -- in a planet that size, a 9.92-hour day is just showing off, in my opinion.

Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 12:42 AM by GirlinContempt
it's surrounded by a lot of poisonous gas and filth, it thinks it's so fucking good. Guess what Jupiter, you aren't the center of the universe. Take a shower, you're stinkin' up the joint.

Edited for punctuation.

15. We are talking about the same Jupiter, right?
5th planet from the sun, lots of hydrogen, some sulfur and methane, rock particles, kinda gross, huge, talks too much?

17. The question isn't whether you can ignore Jupiter
The question is: Is Jupiter ignoring you?

18. Jupiter is nothing more than a giant gasbag.
Jupiter is about 90% hydrogen and 10% helium with traces of methane, water, and ammonia.

And it is kind and benevolent and a truly great guardian. I don't care if it stinks and takes up too much space. :P
