and lots of it. (actually, lozenges are probably your best bet, rather than syrup)

or if you are brave, salt water and peroxide. And drink some tea! Without your disclaimer about the booze, I would just go with some whiskey, but it sounds like that's not an option.

4. Delsym is what I swear by...
...and it's good for people with high blood pressure too, which is why it's the only cough medicine I use. :hi:

5. Everclear or Bacardi 151 does it for me.
But since you have no access to booze right now, then I recommend Robitussin DM

6. It would depend. Are you coughing because of post-nasal drip...
...or are you congested? Since you decribe it as a tickle, I assume it's post-nasal drip. In which case, there are OTC medicines available. But salt water will work in a pinch.

7. Had one of those for a while yesterday.
Didn't want to go to the store and had no cough stuff at home so, I just kept sipping water til it went away.

10. What you really need is
something with codeine in it. I would suggest going to the doctor. :hi: I hope you feel better soon!!!

12. Ricola Lemon Mint lozenges work for me. Salt water.
Also pediatric benadryl liquid. But get in bed before you drink a big slug. If it's a cough/tickle from a cold or flu, then Robitussin DM.

I'm not a doctor so I don't know if this will actually help your throat but at least you'll have just smoked a bowl.

16. I second jap's recommendation of Ricola
cough drops. I use them all the time, and my dad who has severe asthma, uses them daily to stop the tickle. Feel better! :hi:

17. Ask a pharmacist about his stock cough syrup
You can get a plain stock cough syrup from a competent pharmacist. You know, that sweet syrup that has nothing stronger than alcohol in it. It does indeed soothe the tickle, albeit for a period short time.
