2. I think FR "zot" = DU "tombstone". As for ping, I'm a little less sure
of the usage but I think it refers to looking someone up and sending them a message in reference to a post.

Example: One freeper says to another that the Dems will filibuster Alito, freeper number 2 says no way will it happen. Freeper number 1 tells freeper number 2 "OK, I will ping you about this after the filibuster" or something to that effect. I don't know if they have a mechanism to PM someone with respect to a specific post...

4. In retrospect I read that "zot" = threadlock. If so I don't know what
word, if any, they have for having account banned.

6. kinda like a ZIT only bigger
The zot on a freeper is usually between the shoulders and may have a little bit of hair growing on top of the oozing deformity.

8. The only place I've ever heard "zot" before, is the comic strip "B.C."
I used to have some books of this when I was a kid. If I recall, when some violence happened, someone was struck by lightning, or beaten over the head with a club, ZOT! was the sound effect. The characters also used the expression "Great Zot!" I believe, either in this, or Wizard of Id, or both.

Since I learned in more recent times that Johnny Hart is a major Bible thumper and does this with his strip too, I have no desire to read his strips anymore. But this might make him, and ZOT, appealing to freepz.

10. Freeps aren't the only ones to use it.
The Internet Oracle uses "ZOT" too (albeit for a different purpose), and it's been around since 1989.

9. It refers to being struck by lightning, I think
In pagan freeper mythology, posters who are deemed to be trolls are destroyed by lightning bolts flung by minor deities they refer to as 'Viking Kitties'. (Basically, it's just an excuse for them to post cutesy kitten pictures while telling themselves that they haven't forfeited their manhood.)
