2. I gotta couple problems wid yer list.
First, I need the prednisone. I don't like it. I only take a little and it's working.

Second, plain yogurt with a couple of grains of sugar and some muesli is refeshing and mucho delicious and great if you're watching your weight!

That said, one of the first things I'm buying on our trip to LA next week is about 8 gallons of maple flavored yogurt from Whole Foods.

I'm with ya on the rest.

5. It nearly cost my Mom her life
She took it for ulcerative colitis, and it did reduce the symptoms of that,
but it had so many side effects that the net effect on her was harmful:

Raised her blood sugar to the point I had to start giving her insulin
Made her hair come out in clumps when brushed
Made her muscles weaker - I had to help her stand up
Made her skin thin and tear easily - many bruises and skin tears
Made her sleep poorly, waking up many times during the night
Made her eat voraciously, causing weight gain
Suppressed her own immune system response, making her
more vulnerable to infections - and she did pick up 2 infections
during that time, one in her esophagus and one in her colon.

Additionally prednisone cannot be stopped suddenly, it must be
tapered off gradually otherwise adrenal insufficiency may occur.
Even after the last dose is stopped, it remains in the body for several
weeks. It was approximately 4 months after the last dose was given
that the side effects finally went away and she was relatively normal
again. I believe it is a dangerous drug because it causes so many
changes to the body unrelated to the condition that it is prescribed for.

10. The ones I listed are common side effects of it, not allergic reactions...

4. I have plain yogurt in my fridge. It's yummy with a little honey
and fresh fruit or berries (although my seven year old agrees with you.)

8. You gotta try Total Greek Yogurt
Plain- it is strained nad rich and thick and creamy- even the low fat one- some beries and granola, or a litle honey as mentioned above- the stuff is delicious and really healthy. I even like it plain.

13. I mix plain yoghurt
with fruit and it's great. It's cheaper, for one thing, and you also avoid all the sugar that the fruited yoghurts have. (mine's goat yoghurt, btw)
