Poll question: Cheap Trick...Love 'em or Hate 'em?!
....they put on one HELLUVA concert here back in the 80's...a mosh mud pit after hellacious thunderstorms almost canceled the show...they came out and ROCKED regardless! :loveya:

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

Yes, I thought you were a mystery girl,
A special girl in this crazy old world.
You couldn't see me when I laid eyes on you.

'Cause lonely is only a place.
You don't know what it's like...
You can't fight it.
It's a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

You hold the secrets of love in this world.
I'm hypnotized by your ev'ry word.
A special face, a special voice,
A special smile in my life.

'Cause lonely is only a place.
You don't know what it's like...
You can't fight it.
It's a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
You won't hide it.
You won't throw your love away, ooh.

2. here ya go...
Have you seen her face
She's got a face that would stop a clock
And with that face i surely won't stop
To look her in the eyes
But her money's green
She's a tease like a social disease
But she's still so close to my reach
If i call, if i call at all

Any time at all
Any time at all
Any time at all
Any time at all
So the story goes

I think i'll take her for a ride
With this moneybag by my side
A giggolo is the only way to go
And so i show my face
And i can even fake a smile
But i'm laughing inside all the while
This little girl
She's a joke
She's a joke
She's a joke
Any time at all
Any time at all
Any time at all
Any time at all

He's a whore, (i'd do anything for money)
He's a whore, (look at the things that i write)
He's a whore, (ooo, the stories i can tell)
He's a whore (in the morning, in the night)
I'm a whore (he'll do anything for money)
I'm a whore (look at the clothes that he wears)
I'm a whore (he'll do anything for money
I'm a whore

And so the story goes
I think i'll take her for a ride
With this moneybag by my side
A giggolo is the only way to go
Ooooohhhh
Wo wo-wo
Oooo woo
Oooo oo oo oo

14. LOVE 'EM.
Rick Nielsen was primo validation for nerdy folks to rock out. Since most of the music I like is nerdy folks rockin' out (and since I myself am nerdy), I consider him Godfather. Long may he reign.

17. Love love love 'em. They were my favorite band as a kid.
I even dressed up as Rick Neilsen for Halloween when I was 8. (No lie! All the adults thought I was Pinocchio.) What sucks even worse is that nowadays I look more like Bun E. Carlos (gotta hit the gym at some point...)

Their first album was the first album my parents ever bought for me, and it's STILL essential. I even have it on my iPod.

20. Loved 'em from the get-go
I have their first three studio albums and their "Live at Budokan" album. I always loved how they couldn't be typecast; I started a review of "Heaven Tonight" for my college paper with "Is Cheap Trick satirizing punk rock or are they satirizing rock 'n' roll?"

I finally got to see 'em a few years ago at the Independence Rally. I had a photo pass and got some killer shots from the pit. Wish my stupid scanner worked. :grr:

One minute the back side of midnight, it's me, Captain Gonzo, ready to roll hot wax, anything you want to hear all night! It's a balmy 73 degrees in Fog City, 71 in the Valley, 80 in Santa Cruz, but remember if you snooze you lose! I'm gonna hang with you, I'll crank it on, so let me know what you want to hear! My hit lines are open now, you say it you KNOW I'm gonna play it, and be ready to win when I tell you to call in! And whatever you do, remember the phrase that pays puts your brain on vacation and let your toes take over. Keep your pedal to the metal, I'll be back in sixty seconds! In the meantime go with it, go for it, go nuts, go COMPLETELY WILD!

'Elo keedies. :headbang:

21. they came here for a Spring Fling concert at the college.....
.....it rained cats and dogs for a couple hours and everybody was wasted by the time it finally quit...and the practice field turned into a mud pit...there was much wrestlin' goin' on the whole time they played...it was beyond wild...I'll never forget it...I hugged the barrier in front of the stage as to not get thrown into the mud...it's one o'the best concerts I ever experienced because with all that goin' on they ROCKED...a flawless performance I'll always say! :hi:

24. I met these guys once.
They came into a "Head Shop" I worked at in Omaha. Robin Zander was into "High Times" magazine which we carried a lot of back issues and Bun E. Carlos was wearing a rug that day.
I saw their show with the original AC/DC (Bon Scott) the next night. Great show and the two bands jammed together for about three songs after Cheap Trick's encores.

That was the first time I can remember feeling, you know..."not quite so fresh."

Robin Zander was certainly a hottie, but I've always had a thing for dark-hair. Tom was my dream man.
