snippy
A recent community debate over a breastfeeding incident at the Ann Arbor YMCA has prompted Council Member Joan Lowenstein to introduce resolutions that women should be able to breastfeed anywhere in public.

Breastfeeding has become a hot topic since December when an Ann Arbor woman complained after a YMCA lifeguard told her she couldn't nurse her baby while she was standing in a foot of water in the shallow end of the facility's swimming pool, watching her 3-year-old son. She sat on the pool deck and was again told to stop. The lifeguard said there was a rule prohibiting food and drink at the pool and Y officials later said it also involved safety issues of a parent watching a young child in the pool.

thus endeth the snippy.
