Question about tonight's LOST (**SPOILERS**)
When Sayid and Hurley were fiddling around with the radio, did anyone else hear the station's call letters? It sounded like the DJ said "WUXR" or something to that respect.

Also, did anyone catch the name of the manuscript Hurley was reading. It looked like "The Bad Twin."

I really need to get a TiVO.

1. Downloading it now.
I'll let you know. Or you could download it yourself. The internet = my own personal Tivo, haha.

8. bearshare is free. The pro version is good, but the free one is just fine.
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 07:28 AM by radwriter0555
Not that I would evah, I'm just sayin.

The key to bearshare is to use the Bitzi Ticket. You right click on the file before you DL it and see how it's rated by other users. It's saved us MONTHS of DL time.

18. The free version of Bearshare has Spyware/Adware though.
I'd recomment using Bittorrent for downloading TV shows anyway. But that's me.

19. It does have annoying pop up ads, but I wasn't impressed with the library

of bittorrent. I couldn't make it go and got WAY too many nasty porn hits. I rarely get porn hits on Bearshare even without any filters.

The pop ups have scanned fine with avg, and they just pop to the tool bar down below and I right-click them away... it's a small price to pay for a good library and ease of use.

These are the main four that I use:
http://isohunt.com
http://www.mininova.org
http://www.torrentspy.com
http://thepiratebay.org

You should be able to find most things there. Not fool proof for everything, but for something like Lost, it is.

Use a client like BitComet or Azureus. Find an item on either of those sites, and the torrent file you get on either of those sites will open a downoad in the client.

24. Just pay attention to the number of seeds a file has.
The higher the number, the better. (Faster download, etc.)

5. You need to know about bittorrent to download.
so google bittorrent.. download a client. I use BitComet.

You download a tiny 20K or so file from a site like This

Open it with your bittorrent client. Wait for a few hours. That little file that ends in .torrent only tells your computer how to get the file.

Don't be alarmed that you are uploading. There is not a central server so you get what what you give. (sort of) Really google "bittorrent faq".

11. "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge."
I looked it up last night. It's a short story about a Confederate soldier who is sentenced to hang at said bridge. When he's hanged, the rope breaks and he runs to freedom to be with his wife.

I'll put the spoiler in white text:
He dies from the hanging. the part about him breaking free and reuniting with his wife is his last flash of thought.

Something to ponder...

10. I was soooo happy with last night's episode
the last new episode (with Charlie going psycho and the drugs) was very boring. But I guess it catapulted it to tonights episode. Who would have thunk that the new people running the camp would be Sawyer and Charlie.

wearing the black cape/hood looking thing is quite appropriate.

15. That was nice
Another little nod to Star Wars...

And since we're on a progressive board -- I found it odd that no one yet mentioned Sawyer's little comment about "all you have to do is scare the population in order to get them to flock to your army." Seemed rather appropriate in light of current international relations and recent events.

16. I know I'm kind of in the minority on this one
But I kind of like the "slower" episodes that aren't one slam-bang action sequence after another.

I get sucked into shows/books/movies/etc. primarily because of interest in the characters as opposed to the plot. The "slow" Lost episodes always build a lot of character back-story and basically just serve to make the reality of this situation and the whole "Lost" world a much richer tapestry.

I just had to mention it as I've seen several people (here and elsewhere) comment on how "very boring" last week's episode was. And I thought it was pretty damn good.

13. I also have a question about last nite's episode.
At the end did Sawyer actually make off with his mark's $600,000 or did he fleece her?

27. Damnit, I knew the island was purgatory
and someone told me the writers discredited it

That's what the Others are for - they pulled out those who were good enough to not go into purgatory - hence all the kids and other people who I'm assuming were good enough to not go to purgatory. We even learned about why they were taking some of the passengers in the episode that told the tailies time when they first crashed on the island.

That's why the others don't want them going to the other side of the island or even trying to leave it (like when Jin, Michael, Walt & Sawyer tried to do)
