I know the bride to be on Regis & Kelly.
If you get the chance, watch the show this morning, I know Stacey, the bride that will be married at Tavern on the Green in Central Park live on Regis & Kelly.

Her mother and I have been friends for over 20 years and I watched Stacy grow up.

I know, it's a corny show, but hey, they have given the entire wedding party and family of the bride and grown a week's stay in New York for the taping and wedding.

I have cried every morning this week watching this show, sad tears because of my friends' pain and joyful tears for all that the show had done for this couple.

You don't know how painful it is to be forgotten, at least this show has given the struggles here some much needed attention. Sure, it was 5 months ago that Katrina bitch slapped us, but we still need help and we still need support.

:hi:

7. Thank you MrsG

I called her mom on her cell yesterday after they showed the wedding dresses that Stacy gets to chose from for her gown. I told mom that I voted for the last gown that was modeled. :D

I am just so overwhelmed with how much the show has done for these two.

thanks for the heaing and loving wishes and hugs :loveya:

3. I love and adore my mother but.....
...if you call her between 9am - 10am during the week she will give you a tongue lashing. She's not much of a TV watcher but she absolutely loves Regis & Kelly.

4. It's very funny because my dad used to be addicted to them.
He would talk about them as if they were his neighbors. :hi:

5. You want to know how much I love my mother
She was coming to visit me but didn't want to miss R&K so she asked if I would tape the show for her.

I didn't have any blank VHS so I used what I thought was a junk tape but it turned out it was part of the Live8 shown on MTv and I taped over the Audioslave portion of the concert.

11. I am at work when it airs here

But the boss and I both know this family, so he has no qualms with my watching it.

My dad was like that with Regis & Kathy Lee. So much so that I was glad Kathy Lee left after he passed on. It would have really hurt him to lose her on that show.

13. It is important to have the support of family and friends.
Unfortunately, my family has splintered, the emotional hardships have been so much on so many of us. One of the folks that was in the house with us during the storm had to have a pace maker put in yesterday, the strain of this all almost killed her this past weekend.

And I have expected too much of friends and too much of DU. Folks have become bored with Katrina and often my posts are just redundant whines. I can't blame folks, it's only human to get tired of hearing complaints and depressing tales. And everyone has their own issues in life that they are dealing with, my struggles aren't their struggles.

The magnitude of what we face on the Coast each day is so hard to explain. In order to rebuild, you have to tear down. Landmarks are being torn down around us on a daily basis and I get lost driving because of missing landmarks. This isn't the coast I grew up on, the landscape has been so changed. This isn't the magnificent area that I watched develop from a seafood industry city to the cozy and beautiful tourist destination it had become before Katrina.

All I can do is ask for prayers and positive energies. Thank you for sending them out for me.

 :loveya:
