7. The Pen Tool
I use the Pen Tool a lot. It is the best way to make selections.

My second favorite tool is the Info Palette. With me, nothing but specular highlights (reflections on water, for instance) can have zero-percent color in them; with the Info Palette, I can read into a white area and be sure there is some cyan, magenta and yellow in the lightest parts. (My favorite mix is 7 percent cyan, 4 percent magenta and yellow, no black.)

I like the Curves dialog too. If you know how to use this, you can tweak a picture's color balance so neatly with Curves.

A little Gaussian blur, a little Unsharp Mask, those are all good.
