5. How sad and how wonderful
I'm sure that news of rbnyc's accident was posted here but I missed it somehow, so this is the first I've heard about it. Knowing how excited she was about the wedding I'm thrilled that they went ahead with it despite her injuries. What a brave and resilient woman she is.

I hope someone finds a way to get her internet access for the 6-8 weeks the story says she'll be hospitalized. (My God, that's a hideously long time to be in the hospital nowadays.) Knowing how close she is to her DU friends, I'm sure it would help her spirits and her recovery to be able to stay in touch.

God Bless Rene and her beloved. May they have a long and happy life together.

20. Congrats! Why didn't they mention the baby?
That is a pretty miraculous story--even more miraculous when you consider that Rene is a mother-to-be, and that she was in the car for 20 minutes.

Ah well.

She looks beautiful, and I hope both of them are very happy for years to come.

27. Renee... what a beautiful and chillin' bride!
Tenacious - the newspaper quotes a friend... indeed. Misses the thing I have learned from Renee - being in touch with one's spirit, viewing the world from that vantage point - in order to regain perspective (as in - even when 'blue' - recognize the opportunity to indulge and be in that moment... and in that being - one moves through it). In short, Renee even your wedding demonstrates to others the power of being and living in the moment. Even when that moment brings incredible pain, even when that moment brings an unanticipated tragedy, even when that moment throws the "BIG" day - and all of its planning - into chaos and question. It is clear in the picture (and from Flama's reports) that Renee was able to find that space of joy - in the moment - despite the circumstances.

Renee congratulations!

And thank you for continuing to be a teacher to us all.

I'm sorry about the accident, but happy you decided to go ahead with the wedding. I wish you the happiest possible ever after.

My favorite part of the story was about the reception - where Cliff stayed with Rene at the hospital when everyone else went the the reception. Sounds like you found one of the good guys Rene.

Big, big hugs and warm thoughts to you both.

39. OUTSTANDING!
A few weeks back after a particularly bad day, I logged into DU and saw RBNYC's baby announcement. Made me smile.

Here again, after a weekend that I never want to relive, I log in and find that first RBNYC and baby survive a car crash and then read this wonderful story about a wedding.

RBNYC - you are a true inspiration. Much love to you, your husband and the baby.
