that is some shit. Not even 12% of those people are colored. I guess the position for blacks is in the gutter smoking thier drugs. I hate institutional rascism.e

but it's also a lot more multicultural than a lot of suburbia, and especially UMC freeper suburbia ever sees. I know people who are literally shocked when they see people of a different race. They live lives that sheltered from reality. The fact that the 3 news outlets are presenting a fairly equitable presentation of anchors is very good. And, don't cry for the poor white males who can't get talking head jobs; they're in producing, which has better hours and more money.

I'm going to think like my 'burby type family members who live in white neighborhoods, work in white offices and forget there are minorities until gently reminded. (It happens.) I'm dividing these pics by name and pic into categories I would never use - White and Not white. (Remember, I'm not thinking like me.)

Broken down by percentages....
Women:
CNN: 10 of 50 women non white or 20%
MSNBC: 14 of 56 women non white or 25%
Foxnews: 8 of 43 women non white or 18.6%

Men:
CNN: 7 of 44 men non white or 16%
MSNBC: 11 of 55 men non white or 20%
Foxnews: 4 of 55 men non white or 7%

The good news is women of color make up a pretty good percentage of female anchors; it exeeds the national average. This is also much more diverse than what I saw as a kid - female anchors of any race were rare. It's better than the suburbia averages. Not good enough, but improving.

The bad news? Glass ceiling for everyone not born with a white penis. Notice, the non-prime jobs went to women and people of color.

And Faux looks like crap. But that may be good news.
