Best song in an 80's movie?
Right now I'm leaning toward Shell shock by New Order, in Pretty in Pink.
But I'm unconvinced.

You?

Not to sound all elitist and crying "sellout" and stuff, but their best output by far was up to (and including) that song.

Oh, sorry. I thought you said "80s movie song that sucked so hard, it almost created a black hole."

I saw John Parr open up for Sammy Hagar in 1986. He threw his guitar in the air, then missed it on the catch! He snapped the neck off his Les Paul Standard. It would have been much funnier if he hadn't destroyed such a nice guitar.

Darryl Hannah plays the uptight cheerleader. Aidan Quinn is the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. They're at a high school dance. Cheesy music is playing. Aidan storms to the turntable (remember those?) and throws on that song, then starts dirty dancing with Darryl. God I wanted to be him.

72. "I'm Falling" by Comsat Angels in "Real Genius"
although not representative of their sound, it is still the 'Sats, who were one of the most brilliant yet overlooked bands of the decade.

82. Odd you should mention Pretty in Pink, because that's the
song I was going to pick. I mean Pretty in Pink by the Psychedelic Furs.

89. Post #19 can blow me!
"View to a Kill" by Duran Duran. First "Bond song" to go #1, plus it's probably Duran Duran's best song. I win.
You lose!

91. This thread reminds me of how badly most 80's music sucks.
I would have to pick any 80's movie that featured a song not released in the 80's.
