I have a very bad cold. I'm in a very bad mood.
I have the same cold that is plaguing massive numbers of people in the area. It's cold here, too. As a result, I'm miserable.

I need some cheering up, please.

Julie

1. Look on the bright side:
At least you don't have a destructive 10 week old springer puppy. :eyes:

8. I'm so sorry about the naughty puppy
We have two 20+ pound Maine Coon boys that can also be fairly destructive. We love them, but sheesh!

6. hey Julie, I hear you!
I've had this crappy cold for quite long enough. My ribs hurt from coughing, my head is yucky and if I lie down it all gets worse. Let's start drinking now.:toast:

One of whatever you like to drink is on its way over! (I'm going for the Guinness. It's full of vitamin B, supposedly.)

Oh wait, that scares people. Never mind.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Soup with a good rich broth would help that sore throat.

15. 'It's snowing still' said Eeyore gloomily.
'so it is'
'AND freezing'
'Is it?'
'yes,' said Eeyor. 'However,' he said, brightening up a little, 'we haven't had an earthquake lately.'

The Pacific Northwest natives who remember the 2001 Nisqually earthquake are nodding in agreement!

21. I have to be careful with that one
I posted that snippet on the door of my bookstore once, and there was a huge earthquake a couple days or a week later. Apparently I am frighteningly powerful - some kind of butterfly effect. :scared:

20. Will he read me a story?
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 06:56 PM by JulieRB
"Once upon a time, in a place called Washington, DC, there were some very, very bad men and women. I like to call them "defendants". They allegedly decided to jeopardize Princess Valerie's career, and the careers of everyone she worked with, because they didn't like her husband, Prince Joseph. They allegedly told Bob the toad that if he printed this information, it would create lots of problems for Prince Joseph and Princess Valerie. This was not only bad, it was criminal. Since I am the best prosecutor in the whole kingdom, it became my job to make the evil people wish they were never, ever born.

One morning, the whole kingdom awoke to find that allll of the evil people had been indicted. They all had to resign, and everyone lived happily ever after."

I'm feeling better already,
Julie

Beausoir, Mr. JulieRB would be telling him, "She's not really that sick. I'll bet if you asked her to, she'd get up and make some food for us."

19. Sorry to hear it, honey
Was interviewing a doctor today who had a bad cold, his family all had bad colds, and he claimed "everyone in Massachusetts has this cold." His epidemiology creditials might be a little lame, but I'm sorry to see it's not confined to the East.

that I haven't even been to Massachusetts ;-)!

Thanks, Patiod. I can go home in an hour and fifteen minutes, so I'll be all cuddled up with my down blanket, some nice TheraFlu and a sleazy novel...
