4. Mountain Dew
My favorite is the red Mountain Dew. I don't know it's name. All I know is that it's red and it's all I drink in the morning. Since I am prone to insomnia I have to stop with the Dew at noon or so, and then I switch to caffeine-free drinks like 7-Up.

There was an orange Mountain Dew over the summer that was pretty tasty, too.

I also like Yoo-Hoo.

9. Diet A&W rootbeer
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 08:19 PM by hlthe2b
when available... Diet Coke, otherwise

I haven't like "sweetened" softdrinks since they took the sugar out and substituted high fructose corn syrup. I'm dating myself, I realize but children of the 60's, 70's will remember. There WAS a big difference, although the companies claimed otherwise (the politics of corn verus sugar)....

For an upset stomach, or simple nostaligia trip, I'll sometimes go for 7-up...

28. I noticed this too
when we lived in San Diego, my hubby and I would buy soft drinks when we were in Mexico. They still make them the old fashioned way with real sugar. I've heard that the corn syrup thing is mostly because of our government's subsidizing corn farmers. Has anyone else heard this?

Now I've stopped eating sugar, so it's all diet stuff. Hansen's Tangerine Lime is my favorite.

11. Okay Tennessee, I need your help.
Ya'll have a soft drink up there - I had it somewhere in the Roan Mountain area - I can't remember the name of it. Seems like the bottle was green. May have been named after a person - something like Dr. Brown's (but not Dr. Brown's). Anybody got a name for this stuff? I thought it was the best soft drink I ever had.

14. PEPSI ONE!!!
I thought I was the only one on earth that liket the stuff!

Tastes as close to Pepsi as any sugar-free soda ever will.

A little tough to find in the stores. They don't even have the smaller 'refrigerator packs' in this area that are so common nowadays.

Do they still make that? I'm not in Kansas any more.

Other than that, I'd have to go with Diet Pepsi or a good chardonnay.

34. They make a Diet RC Cola, too.
I don't know if it's limited time or not. Used to be able to get it back in the 80s, but hadn't seen it for years when it turned up on the shelves a couple of months ago. It's made with Splenda instead of Aspartame, for anybody who wants a caffeinated diet soda that doesn't have Nutrasweet in it. I don't care about that, personally, but I do like RC, and the diet version ain't half bad either.

36. Green River Soda
Anybody from Chicago remember Green Rivers? The last time they were on the grocery store shelves was early 80s. BUT I found out a few years ago that a small producer bought the brand and formula and it was available from a few outlets. I bought some through a mail order place. Ahhhhhh.
