I have a new dog!
My daughters and I adopted a 3-year-old Siberian Husky today. He's a real charmer. I only hope I can keep up with him. Oh well, a couple of good runs a day with a new "best friend" is way better than joining a gym!

5. when we met, he greeted us, sitting half in our laps and saying hello
after a bit, he knocked over my daughter's drink and eagerly lapped it up

in honor of that and of his fairly prevalent caramel coloring, we named him "Chai."

8. he's energetic without being hyper
I had a German Shorthaired Pointer for 13 years

Now that was a crazy dog--a great buddy, but a total nutcase.

Chai definitely has energy, but is very personable and even a little mellow at times

of course, he's only been here for 6 hours or so . . .
