Some poor guy is working this Saturday, calling folks on behalf of cell phone corporations. I knew it wasn't his fault that he had to do this and I decided to answer the questions just in case one or two included something political.
One of the questions was--get this--"If AT&T were a person, would you describe him as young?"
I started busting up laughing and told the guy, "That is the stupidest question I've ever heard."
He must have been out of earshot of his employer because he say, "Yeah, can you believe people sit around a table and make this stuff up?"
"I wonder how much they get paid for thinking up shit like this?" I asked.
We both started laughing and I said, "Corporate personhood is a stupid idea and we need to get rid of it. For that matter, I hate cell phones with a passion. The only reason I have one is to keep my mother happy. If someone needs to get in touch with me that badly, they can e-mail me." (I hate all phones, not just cellies. It's a wonder I was in a good enough mood to take a survey over the phone.)
Another question was: "If Cingular was a person, would he be smart?"
LOL! This is taking corporate personhood to the extreme. :)
