4. I did my own for the first time this year...everyone I know is telling
me that they got a refund within a week (direct deposit). I filed on the 9th, so of course I'm freaking out thinking I've made
some horrible mistake...

7. The efile refund cycle is based on acceptance by Wed at noon.
Since you efiled on a thursday your turn-around time won't be quite so good. Assuming it was accepted and there were no problems your refund should go out this friday the 24th (mine was actually the day before scheduled, but I wouldn't count on that) for direct deposit or a paper check the following friday.

6. I tried to e-file, but my e-signature was rejected.
Had to mail the returns the old-fashioned way.

11. I don't earn enough for a refund.
So I'll leave it till close to the deadline before sending the paper version in. Halliburton will have to wait. And I always leave a snide note to similiar efect on my check. I'll sure Halliburton will leave a snide note in kind on the wall of my cell in one of their nifty new detention camps.
