Driving from the NC mountain house to Dallas tomorrow!
Bummer. I'll miss the snow/ice forecast for later in the week. I hooked up the empty cargo trailer today and got the car ready. The dogs realize something is in the wind. They will have plenty of room in the car (Nick-the-Quick will be crated, and old Sirius will be in a pup-ball on the passenger seat).

I'll spend about two weeks in Dallas and then return to the mountain house. I put my new DU sticker on my car today. My cargo trailer has two No-Bu$h stickers above the back lights, too.

DemoTex's house in the wilds.

4. Hi Mills River neighbor!
Naw, Rosman is still cheap relative to those places west on US-64. But I AM near Rosman. With a Brevard address. We will have to meet in Brevard for coffee or beer or whatever someday (when I get back). Keep in touch.

Mac

6. Hi
Just ribbing you. When the kids get outta the house, I wouldn't mind moving into Transylvania County. Henderson County is going to go tax crazy like Buncombe is now one day and I wanna get out further.

Yeah, sounds good. We can meet up. Maybe go out to the airport and fly around a while, punch a hole in the sky.

I picked that up driving to Charlotte a few moths ago. Good station.

Have you heard WGWG (Garner Webb) outta Boiling Springs? They do a good job, too.

Re: WNCW

Hard to pick up from where you are. I've picked it up south of H'ville on I-26, but you really gotta be more towards Tryon to get any type of descent reception.

BTW, it's FM, somewhere around 89.3 (????????)

14. 88.7 and a dual station at 100.7 ( i think) in charlotte.
i am listening to it now, via the net (i live outside of athens ga and am about 10 miles out of broadcast range, dammit!)

http://www.wncw.org/

on wednesday nights they play 5 hours of the grateful dead.

starts at 9pm with the grateful dead hour, then 4 hours of my favorite dj "Uncle Dave" who broadcasts at 10pm-2am called "dead air" he plays so many personal tapes people send in to him that i have built up my dead tape collection from the broadcasts.

best was a tape from the boys playing in an amsterdam hash bar.. wished i had been there.

15. Thanks, Kodi!
I'll program that in the car radio tomorrow. Are you in school at UGA? My dad is a retired professor of entomology from UGA.

3. You want snow?
We spent Thanksgiving at our mountain home in West Virginia and it started to snow. cool! and it snowed andit snowed and it snowed. We couldn't get out for two days. I would have been happy to share.....

Nice house, DemoTex. Do dogs really need that much room?

8. Snowed here too ... on Friday.
We had my family here for Thanksgiving dinner in Friday. My brother and his partner left at about 8 pm for The Greystone Inn at Lake Toxaway. They almost turned around because of the heavy snow along the eight miles between Frozen Creek and Toxaway.

In fact, we had some snow as we hiked on the Senior Citizens trail (a misnomer if ever there was one!) after the Thanksgiving meal on Friday.

12. With the trailer, I'm slow!
Real slow. But I'm worried about my expired Texas inspection sticker (11/03). I think I have a five day grace period in Texas to renew. Does the Alabama State Patrol know that?
