Poll question: Favorite 80s song on this list.
Just for fun.
Slections in no particular order, and do not represent the best of the 80s.
Just a bunch of 80s songs.

Edited on Tue Feb-21-06 01:11 PM by asthmaticeog
Man, hXc was great, but so many of its fans were dogmatic schmucks... Shittin' someone for liking the RAMONES? Yeeesh!

On edit: Or did you mean you took shit for liking Shriekback? Still...

13. I meant shriekback.
I like all kinds of music and hung with lots of different groups of kids. My hardcore friends had very strict guidelines for what music was ok to like. Many of them believed that screaming was the only honest form of vocalization.

4. That Ramones song is from '77.
The Clash tune was released in December of '79, so I suppose I'll allow it. ;)

9. Christ, I ***DESPISE*** "Tainted Love"!!!!
In addition to being one of the most simultaneously morose and repetitive, awful songs of all time, it has long been and continues to be the most overplayed. Who keeps requesting this horrible song? Who hasn't already heard it 3 million times, and why do they never tire of it?

16. 'Sheena' and 'Rockaway Beach'
were the first Ramones songs I heard. I fell instantly in love because I thought they were a surf punk band. Finding out otherwise didn't put me off them, though.

GABBA GABBA HEY!
