Being British.
This is taken from today's Newsnight Daily E-mail. Like all good satire it's not that far from being wrong.

A Newsnight viewer, who wishes to remain anonymous, was inspired by
recent debates about the nature of Britishness to send this observation
on our great nation:

"Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a
Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian meal on the way,
to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.
And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign."

I can breathe through my nose and I am not coughing so much and, when I do, it is easier. I think I am on the mend. :D

6. reminds me of the benny hill skit where they ask him why he wasn't...
in the war fighting the germans, to paraphrase, "i was too busy here fighting my neighbors: the schaeffer's, the schmidt's, and the jaggers!!!"

13. Note the lack of anything "French"

Being British also means that the Sandra Bullock look-alike ( and I mean dead-ringer ) working at the Boston INS office will take her sweet time getting your prints and rubbing up against you

all in all, it's been wonderful. Folks here are quite reserved, but politically most folks I hang with would make great DU members. :D
