Update on my sons kidney
To those who were around last weekend, this has been a very tough, but ending up to be a good week.

That final info is that my son went home from the hospital yesterday with strict orders for 4 weeks bed rest. He will be getting regular checkups in the meantime, but it looks like his kidney is staying where it's supposed to. We were told that he will likely develop high blood pressure in the next 6 to 12 months. Not sure how that happens, but I am so glad to have him out of the hospital and back home.

Thanks to you folks that gave the good thoughts and wishes. It may seem corny, but it means a lot to have positive thoughts to carry around during uncertain times.

Thanks again -:)

1. Nothing scarier than a threat to a child
My own kid... well, won't go into that. But let's just say I know how it feels to have your child living under a life threatening disability. Can't even start to say how deeply I empathize and how glad I am that things are looking up. I know a lot of people here are agnostics or atheists, but I'm not. So for what it's worth, I'm praying for you and your son.

2. As a father
I am glad that your son is home and ok. It is certainly a parents worst nightmare to think that anything is wrong with their child. Once again, congrats to your son, and there is good medication available for high blood pressure.:)

4. Your son's kidney problem solved! Good news!
As someone who had a kidney transplant last year after many years of dialysis and its problems, I am certainly relieved to hear your son is Ok now. The high blood pressure can be easily taken care of with good drugs, so don't worry.I am sure your son will recover fast and be his old self again. Congratulations to your son, you and the rest of your family. May God bless all of you!

5. I didn't see your post last week but knew you were having tough
times. I am happy your son is being released.

I didn't see the original thread and don't know how old your son is but if he is young then see if they have a subspecialty physician available ..a pediatric nephrologist. When they warned you he would possibly be developing hypertension they are talking about renal hypertension which does need to be managed closely.

I wish you all the best and will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers.

Glad you can enjoy a bit of relief.

7. Boy, I need to check the lounge more often
I am so sorry to hear about your son but glad the news is better and he is home. Keep us posted, we will be here! It is a pretty amazing community we have here and I doubt that any one of us would think you were corny. Take care.

8. I TOLD you he would be ok..
Teenagers can take a lot of rough & tumble !! I am glad it worked out that way.. I know how scary it can be when they DO hurt themselves..I have walked MILES over hospital hallways.. Let's hope that this was a wake-up call for him to be careful.. Soemtimes it is :)
