The less talked about weight problem....
How many people have problems GAINING weight?

I have had the problem all my life of having to literally gorge myself to gain an extra pound here and there.

Anybody got any good diet suggestions to add pounds to those of us "blessed" with a metabolism that burns off calories as fast we can ingest food?

She has a malapsorbtion problem. You have to keep proteins around the house and eat many times a day..small servings. Snacks such as cheese and nuts between meals and avoid drinking with a meal or thirty minutes before a meal since it tends to fill you up.

In essence, you do the exact opposite of what a dieter does to lose weight.

Are you looking for pounds or muscle mass?


To get muscle mass you need to ingest as many grams of protein as you have total lbs every day. (180 grams of protein for 180 lb person). Couple that with a creatine suppliments, no cardio, and plenty of free weight lifting.


To get more pounds you need to go high carb low protein. Eat pasta, breads, and sugars. Again, no cardio but creatine suppliments will help.

Eat a lot for a few days. Then go back to normal for a few days more. Repeat this cycle. Eventually it may alter your metabolism, making it easier for you to gain weight.

This is what happens with so-called "yo-yo" dieters. Each time they go off their diet, it becomes easier for them to regain the weight, and then some. Over the years of my involvement in the Size Acceptance movement, I've met many people that were forced onto diet after diet by their mothers at an early age. As a result, their metabolisms have been slowed to the point that many of them have now dieted themselved up to over 400 pounds.

5. Well, I weigh 138lbs and am 5'7"......
...which is within tolerance of ideal weight, but my doctor is always on me to put a few more pounds on.

7. Those are pretty much my proportions.
My problem is that when I gain weight it tends to got to my midsection. Fortunately, over the years some of the weight I've gained has also gone to my chest which took care of that pigeon chested thing I had going for a while.
