Let's indoctrine our children into becoming homosexuals!
I am so f***ing tired of people who say kids are "indoctrinated" into this "horrid lifestyle".

I see nothing in our society that indocrinates or promotes homosexality.

However, I see loads of things that indocrinates or promotes the following:

* Violent behavior in boys (GI Joe, play guns, video games, TV, movies)
* Teaching girls to be a good mommy (little dolls, Barbie, etc)
* Teaching girls to spend (there's a new Polly's Shopping Mall somethingorother commercial and there are other toys promoting dolls, faux fashion, and mini malls)
* Lots of HETEROSEXUALITY is promoted, especially for them girlie dolls again, but I'm sure they've got things aimed at boys, like the arcade games where the boy character has to rescue the girl character and kiss when he rescues her... or movies for the kiddies...

We are not pedophiles either.

Nor do we get toasters for converting people.

Nor do we convert people. :eyes:

The right-wing are just dumb and nuts.

1. are you sure?
My membership card came in the mail the other day. Apparently I get 15% off at Bloomingdales if I join the homosexual-of-the-month club.

:D

2. in the middle
i would like to meet more people that feel like they fall in the middle somewhere- not a boy but not a girl-by societies standards.

just one more reason the world is messed up. everybody thinks they have the right to judge everyone else- i am not saying that i am not also one of those people (being harshly critical of the idiots on the right).

peace for the planet really does begin within yourself.

4. Seriously, for counties like India and China....
with population problems, why isn't it encouraged.
I read a book way back in the late 60s about why the Jewish taboo came about regarding homosexuality, and that author thought it was because the Jews started as a desert tribe, worried about their survival. At one time, homosexuality must have been wide spread in the early Middle East.

5. I always pontificated that homosexuality was nature's population control
Nature didn't know we'd have condoms and diaphrams and abstinence.

A few years ago I saw a documentary on some channel and there was an experiment with rats, they overpopulated the rats and a certain percentage became homosexual.

Course then there's people like me who screw things up by going an procreating anyway. But I'm nature took us into account too.

6. People are idiots
I had a lesbian babysitter at one point as a kid (didn't know it until years later) and I feel lucky not to have been raised with that type of stupidity, but you're right, so many people have it. I think strait people who are so concerned with that whole "coversion" thing must be in the closet themselves. I've been attracted to men/males every since I can remember, and while I'm sure a women could get me off, it wouldn't make me want to have relationships with women because that's not me. I figure it must be the same for people who are gay. I think it's more about who you want to love that establishes than what you do with your genitals.

7. What prompted this, HypnoToad????
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 07:36 PM by mlawson
Gee, I haven't heard anyone say shit like that since Bill Bennett did it several years ago. I hope you don't make yourself crazy, watching pat or jerry; I do not!! But otherwise, how many people nowadays actually believe that a person can change their orientation?? That is, who with a functioning brain???

I *have* heard people say, good naturedly, that living in Asheville can produce homosexuality in most persons. Well, okay, the formula goes, 'Sit two hours in Malaprops, then spend an evening at Tressa's or Beluga. The next morning, you will see people of your own gender in TECHNI-color!!!!' Just kidding, though in the case of a probably straight male friend of mine, I wish it were possible!! :D

11. Other people think and say that shit, not me!
I'm a homo. Always was, am, will be. Just because men don't want me doesn't mean I won't stop preferring men.

It's society that's nuts for accusing us of converting people to "our ways", being pedophiles, and everything other ditzy stereotype under the sun!

Who's Bill Bennett?

16. ??? I know YOU don't say it. I didn't mean it that way.
Bill Bennett was Ronnie's Sec'y of Education and was a RW icon until he had to admit he was a gambling addict :o. He used to say in complete seriousness that 'homosexuals need to recruit children, blah blah...' Of course he KNEW better, but so what??? Did the network anchors EVER challenge him on it???? Noooooooo.....

No, my question was, who have you heard recently (on TV?) spreading these old slanders?? They aren't exacty new, you know.

10. Honestly! There was this guy who wrote in the Minneapolis Tribune
About how the paper wasn't "fair and balanced because it hasn't shown what homosexuality does to society." He actually used "fair and balanced." He can't even be stupid in an original way.

I would kick his ASS if i, you know, knew him.

Typical FOX "viewer", I suppose. Not really a viewer, FOX indoctrinated him with their lies of being 'fair and balanced'... ironic...

17. Probably
I really don't understand why these people have such an aversion to homosexuals. I mean, I was reading Leviticus the other day because I was bored i guess and it says don't be a homosexual, it's "a detestable sin" That's why i don't do religion any more, too dogmatic. Why is it detestable? Because you can't have kids in gay sex. I guess, but nowadays most straight people don't want to have kids when they have sex, they just want, you know sex.

13. You can't choose who you are sexually attracted to
I went to college and hooked up with very ardent feminists. We thought, at that time, you could choose to be a lesbian. I was sort of shunned because I just liked men. You had to live through this to understand what the beliefs were and it was before we all realized you are born with a preference.

I've watched my children and their friends. Some are homosexual, most aren't. Those that are have not been indoctrinated, at all. In my small world, these teens are the ones who have parents who have not discussed sexuality with them. (I'm not inferring this has anything to do with their preference) It's been hard on them to not be accepted. I've tried to offer support and understanding and I'm very proud of my children who have offered the same.

15. they hate gays and use any means to justify it
and reach their goal so don't let them bother you. Nothing you can do or say will make them like you. All that said I see nothing wrong with "GI Joe, play guns, video games, TV, movies" for boys.

IMO boys and girls are different, no matter what ultra-feminists say and have different tastes (many of them I believe are in the genes as part of evolution). If a war breaks or a thief enters the house, who has /will step up (most of the time)?
