4. Arrrggghhhh;
That's what I get for not spending every waking moment on DU!

Tonight we'll be dining on shrimp cooked with green and yellow peppers, red onion and tomatoes over a bed of rice. But man am I hungry right now....

2. I took my boys this morning
You wouldn't believe how excited they were to get free pancakes.

It's so easy to make 'em happy when they're young. ;)

Yummy. :)

Next year, I might have to consider a road trip to St. Louis for Mardi Gras (and pancakes). :hi:

8. I found your post very funny for some reason.
I missed out too, rats!

Paul's axemen ate so many flap-jacks they couldn't supply the demand. Ole, the Blacksmith, made a griddle so large you couldn't see across it when the smoke was thick. Sourdough Sam had fifty men with pork rinds tied to their feet skating around the griddle to grease it. The batter was mixed in large barrels and it took a strong cook just to turn the flapjacks, let alone get them to the table.

12. Cool.
I just love the tale of Paul Bunyan. Some of the yarns are so far fetched and really cool. I like the one where the lumberjacks words are frozen and when spring sets in all you could hear was chatter. And the day it was so cold the coffe froze hot. I did a search on my library and found an old 1952 copy. The real book, not the kid's version. I think so anyway.
