I was confused before I got to know you, because your pictures often had a blue tint. It gave it a gothic look, to my mind. :)

I got a purse for christmas thats black with a piece of pink tweed on the front that is the same colour scheme. Not as coarse as the shoes, but I'm pretty sure it's the same colours. Hmmmm....

The reason I ask is my 9 yr old dtr got her ears pierced with her two best friends last Oct for her 9th bd. She was so brave by going first of the three. She did everything perfectly for the two months of wearing the studs: cleaned them 2x/day, spun them regularly. After 2 mos., she changed them out to gold studs, wore them fine for 5 days, then suddenly one of her ear piercings started bleeding, inexplicably. She freaked, we took them out, let them "rest" a day, then tried again. Of course, by then it was too late. They'd closed up and she didn't want to try to push through b/c she was still freaked. Bottom line, it was a bust and we went through several days of her being seriously bummed out about it. Esp. b/c her two best friends had NO problems, whatsoever. Sigh.... She's fine now, though, and wants to try again when she's 11. She's picked that age, for some reason. :)

I've had my labret for, I guess nearing 10 years now. My septum only about 4 years. I take them out sometimes for work depending on what I'm doing and who I'm seeing, but otherwise I leave them in. The labret didn't hurt at all, the septum hurt like HELL but that was my own fault. I flinched when the needle was going in, so half way through my piercer had to reposition. A needle. In my nose cartilage. NO FUN.

If she gets them done again, I'd suggest getting them done by a professional piercer, using a real needle, and get little CBR (Captive bead ring) hoops in them. You can get them REALLY REALLY TINY, the same size as 'normal' ear piercing jewelery. They're safer on the ear, usually higher quality, and easier to clean because they can turn fully through the piercing so y ou can both get your cleaning solution IN, and OUT much much better. You can also go for a surgical steel in the same style, which is good for new piercings because it's medical quality material and won't irritate the skin. Those guns and little studs cause more scarring, keloids, infections and diseases than you probably even wanna KNOW. Just my $0.02
