Terrance Howard, could he be the underdog for Best Actor Oscar?

I just watched "Hustle and Flow" last night and Terrance Howard just ruled that movie. Sure, there have been other "Two-bit hustler tries to make it big as a rapper" movies out there but Howard brought depth to his character that made you believe that he was going to overcome all odds to make it big. And the fact that this movie was based in Memphis (which for novices like myself isn't really thought of as a hot spot for Rap music) just added to the quality of the movie. When I think of Memphis, I think Elvis not underground rap music.

But if you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. I think this movie is a ode to anyone who has pieced together their own homemade recording studio in hopes of recording that one perfect demo tape in order to hope that they'll find someone to listen to it.

this guy has an extensive list of great movies he's done supporting parts for. Let's hope this was the break-out role that'll get him more top tier parts in the future
