I came across this old poem ...
Master of life, Thanatos holds no fear for me.
I don’t look forward to seeing him;
He too is accustomed to being unloved.
When he comes to visit
I will enjoy his company for a brief time.
He will escort me through the familiar streets.
I will not be recognized.
The children will not stop as I pass.
My affairs settled, I take the dream with me
Enduring reality is posterity

1. A nice poem about acceptance of death.

Of all the gods, Death only craves not gifts: Nor sacrifice, nor yet drink-offering poured Avails; no altars hath he, nor is soothed By hymns of praise. From him alone of all The powers of heaven Persuasion holds aloof.
