Today...My Baby Girl turned 16...

I have spent the entire day feeling sorry for myself. Not because of the lovely young woman I am so proud of...not because of wonderful memories we have...

...but...

.....because I went to the endodontist and he banged around on a bad tooth of mine, told me I needed another root canal and sent me home....:cry:

As for the other part:

Darling girl, you have brought so much joy, fun, zaniness...and absolute pride to my life. I could not imagine a day starting without your beautiful (newly brace free) smile.

We went to a fancy restaurant and then my dad popped in on a work break to say hey to his favorite girl...for she replaced me a long time ago. 16 years to be exact. ;) :hi:

Sorry about the root canal, though. I've had three in the last nine months and (I hope) I think that's it. Next month...let the crowns begin.

Now I've got cavities all along my gum lines. The saving is beginning, and it sucks. :(

Say Happy Birthday to your baby. (My youngest is 15 and a half.) I spent half the day at the endodontist so I can relate to your dismay. :hug:

I'm feeling great. I'm sorry about all the tooth problems. I found out I probably cracked 2 more so I'm not too happy with tooth world now, either. These are expensive. Let us know as you proceed so you get sympathy. It's not much but my heart is in it. :hug:

I know how you feel, when my wee little bunnie turned 16 I thought my heart would break. Now she's about to turn 19 on the 26 of this month. I've grown nostalgic about the good old days when she was just 16. She lived at home and wasn't away at college, she still sought me out in a crisis, no matter how small. And the best part was I could still slip into her room at night at watch her sleep. Ahhhh, those were sweet days. Enjoy them, dear mother, while you have them in your hand. :hug:

They grow up so fast, too fast. :cry:

I know what you mean about growing up...I was just thinking about that this morning and all of the "should have, would have, could haves" that go with it. :)

I can't wait until my little one is older! But I also never want her to get older!

It's the great paradox of parenthood, lol.

But, she still likes to hang out with me (for the most part). Her little brother can still get her to play...

...and I feel bad about your tooth. I can sympathize. I've got a temporary crown on a tooth, because it cracked. Well, I must have cracked down on something when it happened, cause now I see cracks in the two teeth above it. That means, oh about $2,600 all together out of pocket. That is, of course assumming, he doesn't have to do a root canal on one of the uppers.

That aside - sorry for the rant - I'm very happy for you, and I know your happy about your daughter. I don't know how you do it. My wife and I have never wanted children, mainly, because we just couldn't deal with the stress and economics involved. Sounds like you're a great Mom! :hi:

;) Thanks so much Robeson! My daughter was one of those "happy accidents" coming along at a time in my life when I thought I couldn't handle it. With the help of MrG, good friends, my father and my brother, I was able to manage. Luckily, she's turned out all right.

It sucks when our teeth decide to give up on us, eh? I hope they are able to help you in the least expensive way possible.
