A guy walks into a bar

A guy walks into a bar and sits down.
He says to the bartender, “give me three beers and three shots of your finest Irish whiskey”.
The bartender is a bit puzzled but serves up the drinks.
The man drinks a shot blesses himself and downs a beer. He does the same with the other shots and beers. He thanks the bartender and leaves.

The following week he comes back in and orders three shots of whiskey and three beers from the same bartender . He downs the first shot and chases it with a beer.
The bartender says “Why do you order three shots and three beers? I could give them to you one at a time. The beers would always be cold if you ordered like that.
The man says” I have two brothers back in Ireland and when ever I drink I have a shot and a beer for them too”. We are separated by many miles but it feels like we are all together when I have a drink with them..

The following week the man comes into the bar, and orders three beers and only TWO shots of whiskey.
The bartender is saddened and asks if something has happened to one of his brothers.
The man says” no they’re fine, It’s just that I have given up whiskey for lent ”.

Hey It’s the only lent joke I know.
