My work just called....
they want me to come on for a couple hours. BUT I didn't acutally answer the call, it went to my voice mail for some reason.


So the question is, did I get the message or not?
"Oh I'm sorry. I was out running earrands, and I didn't get your message until after five."

3. If I wasn't so pissed at them, I would go in, no problems.
But they're idiots, and have been extremely obnoxious lately, so I don't really want to go in. x(

2. You were helping a woman on crutches cross a busy street.
Suddenly, you heard a gunshot from a nearby bank. You finished helping the woman across the street and went into the bank. You turned your phone off as you snuck in, so the perps wouldn't hear ir ring. You came up behind the gunman and tackled him, as he fired a second shot into the ceiling. This caused enough of a distraction for two of the poeple lying facedown on the floor to get the other two perps. You saved the day, esentially, and no, you have no idea why it didn't make the papers. :D

7. Thanks! The only problem I've ever had with that excuse

5. Ignore it.
I'm ignoring the forthcoming calls from work tonight.

They know I don't have a babysitter for the evening shift-I informed my boss of that yesterday. I won't be answering the phone tonight.

12. Are you on-call as a condition of employment?
If not, I wouldn't even worry about it. If they really needed you, I am sure that they would have followed up with actual voice contact with you.

When I used to be on-call, if dispatch didn't speak to me directly, it was never logged as message received, just message sent. Voice mail or any other recording device didn't count; it had to be direct contact.

Hell, I called into work once with a "horrendous fever and a headache that throbbed whenever I moved" (read: a slight sniffle) because I plain didn't feel like going. A week later, I got a customer service award! :7
