1. Wanna race?
I just installed a new "go fast" part on my car. Dying to test it out. I know a couple of tracks where would could do it legally.

7. define clunker
Does it have trouble making it through a week without reminding why you hate it? Or is it like my clunker, 7 years old, nearing 150,000 miles and running like a champ? I don't know why, but I love working on cars. I love the fact that said car runs cleaner, gets better gas mileage, and has a lot more punch than it ever did when it was factory fresh.

The dang break light is on now, even though the brake fluid is fine.

10. Bet I could fix it
I have a knack for these sorts of things. Of course, I can't promise that something else won't be broken by the time I fix it. But I can fix those too.

I won't know until later on in the week though. We've all been too sick to get it into the shop.

28. The brake light

Is trying to tell you something. On a power brake system,if the fluid level is correct with no leaks, you might have a bad brake booster or even bad vacuum line from booster to engine. Maybe just as bad sending unit or something in the light circuit, but it isn't anything to fool around with.

Good luck!

2. Are you nervous? I remember after six months
not driving in Saudi Arabia, getting back to the States and having to rent a car at the airport. I was scared to drive out of the airport parking lot.... Once I got down the road a little ways I was fine, but I really did think that I'd forgotten how to drive. Ultimately, I guess its just like riding a bike (which I don't do too well, either! LOL)

Congrats and Good Luck. Be Safe!

I have a probationary license that I've been able to use a few times over the last couple of years, as long as it was work related...problem to that one is that I work at home. ;-) I was able to use it a bit to look for work before I started at home though.

Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 12:43 AM by khephra
Get so many points against your record in a month or so and they yank it for 10 years without even a trial. And those points can be from anything.

(I was a bad teen though, but no one was ever hurt, and I'm a different person now.)

14. Curious about insurance....
Since they look for any reason to jack up your rates off the scale (even looking at credit records), is yours going to make you mortgage the house to drive? Since you hadn't driven in 10 years, were you able to work something out with your previous company?

I had a little early 20's wild spell--never lost the license, but ended up having to sell my car (which was laughably considered a sports car) for a few years and buy a junker. Since then, I've been a bit paranoid, but quite careful and nothing worse than a parking ticket (knock on wood) for more than 17 years.

17. Actually, all they cared about is the length of times before accidents
and tickets. And it being ten years, well.... It's very cheap.

Like I said, I was young and stupid. I'm a different person now, so there's no need to worry about a repeat of the situation.
