My shower drain is clogged! And I've tried everything!!!!
Anyone know anything about plumbing? I've snaked this drain, used every kind of drain cleaner known to humans, snaked every other drain in my little studio flat, but to no avail. It's so disgusting, when you flush the toilet, the shower backs up.:wow: . The water still drains (very slowly) so if I time it right, I can take a very short shower before it fills up, and wash my hair at the gym. But I'm an irrepressible procrastinator and I've been avoiding calling a plumber. It looks like I have no choice, but if anyone knows ONE MORE IDEA, I'm happy to hear it.

Advice, please???

1. You need to try snaking the drain via the toilet, the blockage
might be reached from that route.
if not, call a plumber.

2. Try boiling hot water. That worked for me more than once.

3. The last time this happened to me . . .
. . . I had to get the sewer lines in the backyard replaced. They had collapsed! You might want to get a plumber to snake your sewer lines to see if they are clear of roots or have caved in.

4. Yeah, I think you could be right....
but the house in front of me is not having the same problem. Still, I guess it's time to call.

drains on cable yesterday.

I think you might need a plumber. Sometimes the clog is ABOVE where you think it is. In this case, they had to go on the ROOF and look inside to see the clog, then free it that way.

It's more complicated than you think. You probably need professional help. Keep washing at the gym, and make an appointment with someone.

PS. Don't know where you live, but you might try Angie's List. This is a listing of workers recommended by you, your friends and neighbors. The list is very helpful. I've reviewed a couple of people here in Portland.

(Then choose your nearest city or town.)
