I'm changing my avatar until the fat lady sings
What must occur for the Jets to claim the second wild-card berth in the AFC:

The Jets must win their final four games over the Bills (5-7), Steelers (4-8), Patriots (10-2) and Dolphins (8-4).

The Dolphins must lose at least three of their remaining four games. They face the Patriots (10-2), Eagles (9-3), Bills (5-7) and Jets (5-7).

The AFC North runner-up — either the Ravens (7-5) or Bengals (7-5) — must finish no better than 9-7. They face each other on Sunday.(P)

The Broncos (7-5) must finish no better than 9-7. They have four games left, including the Chiefs (11-1) and Colts (9-3).
Note: If the Jets, Dolphins, Ravens or Bengals, and Broncos finish 9-7, the Jets win the tiebreaker based on a better conference record.

It could happen

1. "Changing" or "not changing" your avatar?
The fat lady may cometh, depending on what you do, avatar-wise.

I've always liked the Jets. :toast:

4. Broncos will be sweeping their final four games..
and soundly defeating KC, Cleveland, Green Bay, and Indy

anyone want to bet with me that they can't win it all? They'll be in the playoffs while many (including KC) falters due to severe injuries.

12. *AHEM*
May I remind you that it did recover and beat the shit out of Raiders who COINCENDTALLY have the same record as Da Bears?

Also, KC owes us one because while Daunte Hall was running, the officials CLEARLY missed an illegal clip (even Vermeil admits it) which would have taken the back to the 1 yard line of the KC side.

KC should be 10-2 instead of 11-1. And we lost to them by ONE friggin' point.

So KC will be 11-2 after next weekend. And three games after that, 11-5 and based on AFC West tiebreaker -- Broncos win this one, because _WE_ beat cincinatti and KC lost to them.

10. I don't know what happened in Indy w/ the Jets
But New England has the longest current winning streak in the NFL. They don't win pretty, but they win. They get scrappy w/ the big boys even though 1/2 their team is on the injured list, and they win.

You gotta admit, momentum is on the side of New England.
