I can't take any more of this

I've tried for years now to ignore it, to just go on with life as though nothing is fundamentally wrong, to just keep trying, putting one foot in front of the other and soldiering on in the belief that somehow things would get better, that someday things would get back to "normal," whatever that was.

It's no use anymore. It's like I can "see" without the sunglasses from _They Live_ and it's just too insane to keep on any longer.

I'm having some troubles of my own. In what way can't you "keep on any longer"?

It doesn't. It's time to stop pretending that if we just work a little harder, or get a few more votes to go our way, or play by the rules that things will change.

They won't. We need a fundamental, activist, no holds barred, hell-with-the-"rules" opposition to the current corporate, neocon, fundie trends.

I hope I didn't scare anyone else. I guess the OP was kind of dark and desperate, which is cool, because I'm writing a song from the point of view of a dark and desperate person and I'm "in character."

I agree completely. I'm trying to square-off against a landlord who has money and obviously I don't.

My daughter turned 19 last week. I'm still shaking my head.

I guess it was kind of a dark post.

I just got back from a dinner and movie with my daughter, so I'm feeling pretty good right now. .

I know that one of the things that moves us to humor is pain. Are you talking about our current administration, or is this a more personal thing than that? I've felt what you're feeling about our country for some time, occasionally waking up to the nightmare. I'm really sorry, too, if it's personal.

I have a close friend whose son committed suicide a little over a year ago. I will NEVER do that to those I love, so don't y'all worry when I get dark.

At the risk of sounding cliche, don't give a temporary problem a permanent solution.

You are not alone, many of us have been there before and it can get better.
I know you feel like the darkness won't end, but you are wrong. I can tell you're a good person and we can't afford to lose people like you.
Please seek help, continue the fight.

I used to think things could be better

I got fed up and got myself some help . Had a bit of an attack last night due to not eating but I can tell you , going to the doctor's really helped me .

I was a little radical to begin with, but the sunglasses in They Live made all the difference.

Totally crap movie! But I began to see how we are manipulated and never see it.

So don't give up! Sure it's a tough fight! Any fight worth fighting is! Are there setbacks? Lost battles? Sure, there are!

But if it's worth fighting for, it's worth figting for! We all get a little tired and need some R&R.


But the fight ain't over until we are dead!
