1. I wished I could play guitar....
and not just rock guitar...all types, jazz, improvisational everything.

Took lessons when I was a kid, but didn't learn in one lesson and gave up. It's just not "in me" as it were.

5. the ability to multitask
i can't drive and talk at the same time. no, not drive & cell phone (i REFUSE to do THAT).

i'm just talking about driving while talking to a passenger. can't do it. or, at least, i have to put a halt to any conversation in traffic or foul weather. chat is only ok in cruise-control situations.

same goes for piano. i can play left hand or right hand, but put them together, ouch.

sigh.

You know, draw stuff in a journal like the cool artsy kids did in college. I suspect it was a great way to meet the ladies... but now I'd just like to be able to do it.

I can't draw anything not made up of straight lines and right angles...

13. Guys - you can take lessons - who the hecky-durn (I'm not
getting another post deleted) cares about your age. I moved to LA a year or so ago, so I'm working on Spanish. And I'm eligible with change for AARP. I decided I wanted to know how to ride a horse when I was 45, so I took lessons and learned for several years. Take lessons in stuff! It beats all-fire outta TV, or shopping, or yardwork. Drugs, maybe not.....but lessons are cheaper.

25. It sucks doesn't it?
It took my ex an extra year to leave because she couldn't give up the sex. She even cried the last time we did it.

My girlfriend falls asleep exhausted.
I think she needs a tag-team partner... but that's just me.

Artistic ability. Hell, anything. The only thing I seem to be able to do well is troubleshoot servers. I make a good living at it, but it's not where my heart lies. I would give anything to be a natural athlete or musically gifted.

31. Wow. Those are my two as well.
I've always wanted a project car to work on and play with on weekends. Something FAST! :D But, to do what I want to do, I'd have to learn automotive mechanics. I'd take a class or something.

I think I have some musical ability, I just get too restless to learn through lessons.

34. I'm good at scheduling repairs.
I have an older Infiniti. It's very reliable, but it's at that age...

I'd like to have a Corvair to play with though...but aside from the VERY basics, I'm clueless.

If I thought I had musical talent, I'd enjoy practicing more. I think.

That way I could do something interesting everyday. Except for bad skills like artfully picking your nose or having the ability to ward off beautiful women at a glance. They could only be really useful skills.

40. Piano
I wish I could play Rachmaninov's "Prelude in C-Sharp Minor, Op 3, #2". I took piano from a senile old woman at age 11 and the best she could teach me was pecking out "Home on the Range".

43. I wish I could write
I don't communicate half of what I think on DU because I can't express myself 1/10th as well in writing as I can by speaking. It probably stems from my being afflicted with *the ADHD*. It's virtually impossible for me to concentrate long enough to put the thoughts I have into written words, whereas with talking I can just blather on endlessly until I get my point across. :D

45. i can't help but notice all the attempts at music lessons here
the # 1 rule for music lessons is to shop around till you find someone that you are comfortable with and doesn't have their head up their ass. i've met so many other teachers that just plain suck it boggles my mind. just because you can shred or have a masters in music doesn't mean you are qualified to teach. Many of the teachers i met couldn't teach a grouper to swim if they were threatened with death as the alternative.
