I can't come up with anything for a writing sample for a potential job

I had a phone interview for a job. The interviewer said that she needed a writing sample from me so that she could get a feel for my writing style. She suggested that I use something from work, but I told her that I did not feel comfortable sharing company property with her. She then said that I could write about anything. I cannot find any of my college papers. Everything that I have written in the past few years aside from work has been fiction, personal writings about me and my feelings, or political/social/religious opinions. I don't think any of that is really appropriate to send her. I think that I'll have to write something from scratch but I don't know what to write about. What makes this especially terrible is that I told her that I enjoyed writing.
Writing is relevent to this position that I applied for in that it involves writing procedures as part of the duties.
What should I write about or should I go through the DU archives and use one of my posts, even though it might be contreversial in nature?

Gradening, wood working, etc, wouldn't be too controversial.

or questioning, rather than controversial. See if it stands alone - or edit it /enhance (write more on the topic.)

The more you try to force something now, the more contrived it will likely sound. Something that you wrote for a purpose different than "I want this job" probably is more representative of your overall writing - and would likely be a better read. (Said from a similar experience.)

If your company writing concerned widget manufacture, change it to gizmo manufacturing. It's a creative writing exercise in a relevant way.

something lighthearted, a hobby you enjoy or how to make the perfect martini, or how to throw a perfect pitch (sorry, not a real creative person but you get the gist). It might get you in the mode of what you would be doing.

I wouldn't use anything controversial.

Shows strong moral character; the kind of person the interviewer's company should want working for them.

Do you have any letters to the editor that you could use? Or could you extract a paragraph or two from some of your writing from work modifying them in such a way they would be generic in nature? Or take one of your writing topics from work and write something new on the same theme?:)

with supporting examples, and using compare and contrast to further edify why your work ethics are sincere, strong and make you a good candidate for any potential jobs in your field of endeavor.

Or write about a clarifying moment in your life, where it began, who (names changed) it involved, how it effected you, and what you did to employ that personal epiphany to your every day life and/or the positive change in your perspective about yourself or your view from the new perspective.
