Sigh, where do you find old books of "Peanuts" cartoons?

I mean the really early ones, where they looked different, had bigger heads, before Snoopy became huge as a big licensing/merchandising phenomenon...

I just thought of a couple old faves from when I was a kid, and had these old books (pretty beat up even then).

In one, Lucy is reading the Georgie Porgie nursery rhyme. After "And when the boys came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away", Lucy says "What a neurotic HE must have been!"

Another one has to do with Charlie Brown and the little red haired girl, something like he fails to go up and talk to her once again, and he's sitting alone eating his PBJ for lunch, and makes some remark like "there's nothing that robs peanut butter of its flavor like unrequited love" LOL.

I love those early, somewhat depressed mood "Peanuts"!

at Barnes and Noble. I miss Charlie Brown.

There's bound to be a bookseller there.

Also, if you have a used bookshop in town, I'd try there too.

Sometimes people sell out of print and vintage books on there.

There are other sets too. They're apparently releasing ALL the strips in the same format.

sadly, they sorta disintegrated...

i did get a few reprints back in the 80s but i don't know where they are now

apart (from our reading them all the time) even back then.

But I still have most of the original books, even back when he had the bigger head, etc. The ones from the '60's. They were my older brother's, and I always loved them so he gave them to me. I plan on keeping them and maybe sharing them with any little Giant Robots that come along.

it comes in different eras each book.

including, off the top o' my head, "Peanuts" (the first one, from which comes the first strip you posted), "More Peanuts" and "Good Grief, More Peanuts."

Altogether, I have maybe 40 "Peanuts" paperbacks, including a truly fascinating one called "Charlie Brown and Charlie Schulz," which is about the history of the strip and its place in society (it has several strips from other countries), as well as a history of comics in general.
