21. "Reds" (1981) was edited by a very fine woman, Dede Allen.
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 01:33 PM by Radio_Lady
This woman deserved an Oscar for editing but never received one. See her credits at IMDB -- one of the first women in the profession. Fascinating story there.

She's now in her 80s.

20. Oh.. :-( She's from near where DH & I were born & raised. HVCC
even named their theatre after her. She was a very nice and very real person from what I've heard from those that met her. I remember her in a few movies but must admit Cocoon is the one that came to mind first thing.

RIP Maureen...

26. :-( Slainte, Maureen.
I spent an afternoon in Maureen's company at a mutual friend's house -many years ago. She was unpretentious, hilariously funny - and salty. I can still hear her describing childbirth...better still, I can see the contortions as she regaled us.

Talented, warm and oh so human. May Peace be hers.

24. I cried so much when she died in "Queen of the Stardust Ballroom"
and the crown she won the night before is on her nightstand . . .

God, I feel the same way right now. She was one of the best.

i followed the links in gd and ended up here so that i could post

im "glad" to see when it lists the cause of death as natural
whatever that means but at least it doesnt seem to be some long drawn out painful death

i always enjoyed - and will continue to enjoy - watching her films
now thats a legacy
