Post here and I'll 'give' you your very own album from my collection
'Give' meaning it's the special album we'll always share together!

I'll be up all night working on the album project so who knows what you'll get but it's safe to say you won't be getting any Britney Spears or 50 Cents (this is vinyl, I don't think I have anything much past 1990)

"...Of course, when we meet Rob, he's experiencing the misery instead of the music whole. Spinning records in his dingy apartment, a veritable vinyl cellar, he's merely listening to the notes--unlike his two hired hands, Rob's passion for music seems to rollercoaster in tune with his love life. (He's also organizing his personal collection "autobiographically," effectively deintellectualizing the albums themselves.)..."

I was picturing you in a Rob-mood.

44. I wouldn't give you a crap-ass Bowie Record
Right after Katrina there was an already scheduled Fashion Show TV event on one of the Networks. Because of Katrina they used the event to help raise funds and one of the performances was David Bowie singing "Life on Mars?" It was absolutely stunning - goosebumps type of material. The whole first side of Hunky Dory has some of my favorite DB songs including Mars, Kooks and Changes.

Here's the song we can share - wonderful lyrics

Will you stay in our lovers’ story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
’cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing

Will you stay in our lovers’ story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
’cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing

We bought a lot of things to keep you warm and dry
And a funny old crib on which the paint won’t dry
I bought you a pair of shoes
A trumpet you can blow
And a book of rules
On what to say to people when they pick on you
’cause if you stay with us you’re gonna be pretty kookie too

Will you stay in my lovers’ story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
’cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing

And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up this old fool
Don’t pick fights with the bullies or the cads
’cause I’m not much cop at punching
Other people’s dads
And if the homework brings you down
Then we’ll throw it on the fire
And take the car downtown

Will you stay in our lovers’ story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
’cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing

Will you stay in our lovers’ story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
’cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing

Will you stay

I'm getting into my 80s section and just started to enter this one. When I flipped it over there was a green maple leaf (same shape as what's on the flag) so it's perfect for you because of the Maple Leaf (Canada) and it's green for St. Patty's day (although I'm guessing that's an American holiday)

59. I'm giving you Box of Frogs "Strangelands"

Ok, I know what you're thinking - what the hell is that? Well that, is one of my more favorite albums. The group came out in the 80s and was basically ex-Yardbirds im McCarty, Chris Dreja & Paul Samwell-Smith along with some other musicians. Included in a few of the songs is Jimmy Page (also an ex-Yardbird) doing some solo work

But because of your Frog, I give you Box of Frogs. It's a good album! Sometimes the song "Another Wasted Day" sings just for me, now it'll sing for us!

I've done 100 albums so far and that's just from what I purchased recently. I still have 2 shelves to go and I'll probably do the same with my CDs (that's around 400 too)

76. I have no Osmonds but how about Breakfast in America by Supertramp

I love this album - second one I ever bought and I still play it all the time.

And I love the line in the "The Logical Song":

Now watch what you say
Or they´ll be calling you a radical
A liberal, oh fanatical, criminal
Oh won´t you sign up your name
We´d like to feel you´re
Acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 08:47 AM by LynneSin
and thus you get the album with the good luck song for our special album

Greatful Dead "American Beauty"

Anytime I hear Ripple playing without any intervention from me (meaning it just came on the radio) something good happens with my job. I heard it right after I talked to you and I willed that good luck to you!!

Do you know that Fripp and I have a history? He once called me clueless, in print!

(And once upon a time I told that to Bill Bruford, who replied, "Welcome to the club! You should see some of the things he's called me!")

Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 09:57 AM by auburngrad82
Or how about Mississippi Queen by Mountain. I seem to remember cowbell in that.

And I must be getting old. The first album I purchased was the Beatles Second Album at least 20 years before Pyromania came out.

Rock On.
