Flushable diapers, anyone?
http://www.gdiapers.com/

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with diapers anymore. But if I did, I'd give these serious consideration.

1. I use to do diapers before the disposable ones came out.

3. We used disposables
but I always felt guilty about the landfill issues. This company claims, "you can even garden compost the wet ones in one compost cycle, approximately 50 – 150 days."

2. Have you ever noticed that most flushable products
disapear from the market pretty fast? wonder why?

this is great: "You’re putting waste right where it belongs, in the toilet. Not in a landfill"

landfills, bad - sewage pond good???? wtf?

OTOH, having done a couple of squids....I can see the temptations.

they are just flushable liners - still gotta handle them - and they come with a "stir stick" for use befor you flush - yuck -- think I would pass even if I needed diapers in my life now.

edit - that was "SWISHstick" sorry.

Read the specs...
Pretty exciting if they're any good.

6. Well part of my problem is I am in AZ in the midst of a 20 year drought

plus we pump our own water. the site recomends 2 flushes for each "event" that is any where from 5 to 10 gallons for ONE liner, one could wash a whole load of cloth diapers for the water in two of those liners.

They sound like MORE work than cloth diapers, frankly. Although I agree the composting of the wet ones is kind of nice sounding. The rest is not so great. If they make it at all I bet you start seeing "no flushing of so-called flushable diapers" signs in public toilets.

7. Hmm...
They don't seem any more environmentally-friendly than the regular disposable variety, and how the hell would you keep your toilet from getting clogged by them???

My idea? Potty-train early and live happier lol.
