1. I'm going to be a hypocrite and go with the God talk here,
despite the fact that constantly I use "Jesus Christ" as an expletive.

5. "No-brainer" makes me cringe
"On the same page" and "take it to the next level" are both obnoxious workplace-type phrases. But I guess the one that drives me craziest is when people say, "So I was like... and he was like..." LIKE WHAT, YOU FUCKING MORAN!!!

6. The God stuff makes me uncomfortable--
it's not inherently bad, it's just that people who use it in casual conversation have a tendency to overuse it.

Last week, I was at the dr's office, and the nurse who took my blood pressure and stuff was so perky--when she brought me to the exam room, she said something, and I told her she was the most cheerful nurse I had ever met, and she said, "Well, this is God's work! God Bless you! etc, etc, etc..."

It's a "pro-life" practice, but there's a line, at least in my world...

"This, that, and another" and "(s)he says." Granted, the second one is usually used by older people, like my G-ma.

12. The one that disgusts me most is one that black and white kids say....
here, black to white, white to black, black to black, white to white.

"Wat up, nigga."

God damn I hate that. I want to slap them in their mouths when I hear it, and I hear it pretty much every time we go to the mall, movie store, Sonic, or where ever.

These idiots either are prejudiced against their own race or they have a serious self-esteem issue. Either way, they sound stupid.

13. "To make a long story short. . . "
By the time they use that phrase, it is usually WAY too late to make the story short.

"You have a good one!"

I respond with either:

36. Haha!! My mom used to use that one.
She would draw out the last syllable of Josephine if she were particularly frustrated.

She would also exclaim, "Jesus Cramminy!" I used to think he was the guy who would accidentally receive Jesus Christ's mail.

17. Almost nobody agrees with me on this one
but it's like nails on a chalkboard to me when people say "able to" in the context of "did." Like, "I was able to finish the job."

I always think, "Okay... but did you?"

20. And the fucknuts who say "I would like to thank you"
Edited on Sun Mar-19-06 03:04 PM by Rabrrrrrr
or "I would like to....(whatever)" in the context in which they are already doing it, or "I just wanted to call and say thank you", etc.

"I would like to"? Just say "I am", dipshit, or "I thank you" or whatever. God.

I sometimes say, if I know the person well enough, "You would like to (whatever), but you aren't going to because...?" And then they say, "huh?" and I say, "You said you WOULD like to do this, which implies that you aren't going to".

Dumbasses.

23. You know what i'm sayin?
I have a girl who sits across from me at work whom I had to remind the other day that it sounds like she's trying to be a thug. I kindly reminded her to use the phrase, "Does that make sense?" when she wanted to get the same point across. It makes the customer on the phone think they you want to make sure that you've explained everything correctly. I'll start flicking smarties at her next week if I hear her say it again.

30. You misfired on one.
and she said.. and I said.. (replace with a he for a guy)

Now that's not as bad as what we actually have to suffer.

What we have is:

'And she goes..and I go...etc. etc...'

OR

'And she was like...and I was like...'

And when did "I mean" become the new "you know?"
