They're in their 80's and Dem...

But do i really want them to see where I'm at?

The thing about my sister has me most worried.

It's done, any suggestions?

13. Calm down. Your parents might actually be proud of you
You wanna know fear? My daughter reads DU! And once in a great while, she posts. Gads, she can look any day and see what I am up to. She still loves me.

Parents sometimes suprise! They might be stranger than you even. Give em the benifit of the doubt. As a parent, sometimes the hardest thing we do is not laugh until the 'kids' are outta earshot. We often run a good bluff ;)

Richard Pryor's to be exact and we don't have any rules there. My mom is a Dem, but she is also a Mormon and with all the "F*ck You Mother F*ckers" on the website and some of the really nasty (and funny) things that are posted on that website, I was a little worried.

I found out my mom is a grown-up and I don't need to protect her eyes. She was actually quite entertained and felt that much closer to me because of some of my posts.

I wouldn't worry, but then of course, I don't know your family.

And I would have to agree, computers and drinking don't mix.

10. Do they really do the computer thing?
My mother is 87 and won't have anything to do with a computer. Unless they are savvy, it is likely they'll simply click on the link and look at the first offering or so and that's it. If the posting about your sister is on down the line, you probably don't have a thing to worry about.

My brother is recovering from cancer surgery and I plan to send him the link to DU-he's a Dem and a veteran, and he would probably be a bit amazed at some of my posts.

Another thought-you can edit your journal and delete things you don't want them to see.

I sent the link of the "Replace 'Dildo' in any movie title" thread to my Assistant District Attorney son at his work email. :eyes: WTF was I thinking??

Today he suggested I send all future emails to his law school alumni address. Not because he didn't want to read the stuff but because there were filters on his work email.

Oh well. He's used to his mother's bizarre sense of humor. He sent me the Osama Training Video from Family Guy, so we're pretty much on the same planet.

It will be fine. If your sister is pissed she needs to lighten up. My 86 year old in-laws hate Bushie and really love it when my LTTEs get published. :-)

and if they click on it every major appliance they have in the house could go up in smoke!

36. PUI (Posting Under the Influence) can lead to both good and bad results.
The bad ones are 'HANG HEAD IN SHAME', and buy a breathalyzer for your computer.

The good ones open up lines of communication and understanding that NEEDED to be opened up - but were controlled and silenced in a sober state.

Your journal - from a cursory overview - seems quite sane and cool.

Bottom Line - don't worry!

I had a lump in my throat when I was done reading your posts on her. I sat here for the longest time just thinking about what you had written. You don't know me from Adam, but you really touched my heart. You honored your sister. I would think that your parents will be proud.
